CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON 2: SWORD OF DESTINY Premieres on Netflix Feb 26 and at IMAX Puente Hills, CA

CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON 2: SWORD OF DESTINY premieres on Netflix and the big, BIG screen this Friday!  The sequel to the international hit CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON finally got made 16 years later, thanks to Netflix.  Catch the Premiere on Netflix, or on IMAX at Puente Hills February 26, 2016.

Due to the movie coming out simultaneously on Netflix on the same date, virtually all big chain theaters refused to screen it.  IMAX was supposedly the only chain to show the movie, but I haven’t really been able to find it playing anywhere in LA (other than Puente Hills).

CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON 2: SWORD OF DESTINY

starring Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh, Harry Shum Jr., Jason Scott Lee / directed by Yuen Woo-Ping / action by Yuen Woo-Ping

Yu Shu-Lien (Yeoh) has been forced out of solitude after the diabolical warlord Hades Dai (Lee) threatens to dominate the Martial World by possessing The Green Destiny.  It’s up the her, a misfit band of outlaws and a new young protege to stop him.

Much excitement has been built around this sequel, as the original was a classic for both kung fu fans and the general public alike.  It’s very exciting to see Michelle Yeoh again, especially being teamed up with Donnie Yen at the peak of his popularity.   Though I don’t expect it to hold up to the original, I still have high hopes for it.  I’m also happy to see Netflix support these kind of projects!   They have a pretty decent kung fu collection, though here’s my recommended list (yes, it needs to be updated!).

AMC Puente Hills

1560 South Azusa Avenue
City Of Industry, CA 91748

MONKEY KING 2, IP MAN 3, and KUNG FU PANDA 3 (if you want to count that) are also concurrently playing there.  That’s a lot of kung fu for one theater!
