SNAKE IN THE EAGLE’S SHADOW (1978)
[youtube id=”POjzRfxpSls”]
Starring Jackie Chan, Simon Yuen, Hwang Jang Lee / Directed by Yuen Woo-Ping
One of the first Jackie movies that finally showcased his knack for comedy, directed by the legendary Yuen Woo-Ping. Woo-Ping’s father stars as Beggar So, a role he’d eventually be renown for.
POLICE STORY 3: SUPERCOP (1992)

Starring Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Yuen Wah, Maggie Cheung / Directed by Stanley Tong
Jackie Chan revives the role as “Kevin” Chan Ka-Kui, the police officer that can’t be stopped. While it’s hard to top Police Story 1 and 2, this movie features plenty of Jackie’s amazing stunts, great fights and surprise guest stars. Michelle Yeoh really shines in this picture, arguably almost stealing the thunder from Jackie as she matches him fight for fight and stunt for stunt. It’s definitely one of my favorite Jackie movies.
DRUNKEN MASTER (1978)

Starring Jackie Chan, Simon Yuen, Hwang Jang Lee / Directed by Yuen Woo-Ping
One could almost consider this a reboot of SNAKE IN THE EAGLE’S SHADOW, though this movie made a superstar out of Jackie Chan and his unique brand of action-comedy. It’s a comic variation of the classic figure Wong Fei-Hung, who learns drunken boxing from an old beggar as punishment for his misbehaving.
THE LEGEND OF THE DRUNKEN MASTER (AKA DRUNKEN MASTER 2) (1994)
[youtube id=”7P7tWqwKqE4″]
Starring Jackie Chan, Lau Kar Leung, Ti Lung, Anita Mui, Ken Lo / Directed by Lau Kar Leung
One of my all-time favorite kung fu movies, Jackie resurrects his loveable version of Wong Fei-Hung 20 years after the first. Teaming up with kung fu directing sifu Lau Kar Leung, this movie is cram-packed with some of the most legendary fight scenes, climaxing with the iconic 20-minute uber-finale.
